It could be that your BMW key fob needs to be replaced with new batteries. These batteries are small enough to replace yourself and are affordable. The only thing to remember is to ensure that you are using the correct kind of battery and that you close the key fob properly. Utilizing a flat screwdriver, for instance, to open the key fob's cover open could damage it. It also stops it from working.
The battery in a BMW keyfob is usually a battery called a CR2032 which is also known under the name of a watch battery. It's easy to find at your local hardware store or on the internet.
